Editorial policy

Open Journal aims to publish clear, useful writing about journaling without presenting personal preferences as universal rules. We explain what an idea can offer, where its limits lie, and what readers may choose to adapt.

Accuracy and care

We review articles for clear language, internal consistency, and claims that can be responsibly supported. Advice about prompts, routines, or materials is presented as an option rather than a guaranteed result. We do not invent facts, quotations, sources, or experiences to make a piece sound more authoritative.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are kept distinct from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored, or partner material is identified clearly where it appears, so readers can tell what kind of material they are reading. A partnership does not guarantee editorial coverage or a favorable description.

Corrections

When a material error is brought to our attention, we review it and correct the article when warranted. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page, describing the passage and the change they believe is needed. We aim for direct, transparent corrections rather than silently leaving a known error in place.

Images and illustrations

Some illustrations on Open Journal may be AI-generated. We identify such illustrations where they appear when appropriate, and do not present them as documentary photographs or evidence of a real event.
